How To Recover a Forgotten Password

Password Unlock Fails

If you have recently changed your password on your new Pixel Graphene OS phone, hopefully you have written it down or made a record of it and filed it in a secure place, as we encourage everyone to do.

If you enter your password as you believe it to be, and it does not unlock your phone, you are not entering the correct password or typing it incorrectly. The most common cause is forgetting the password as it was entered at the time you changed it, or you may also have simply written it down incorrectly.

Password Recovery

The only way to regain access to your Secure DeGoogled Graphene OS Phone is to enter the correct password. If you can not recover your correct password, you will need to return your phone to us to wipe and reconfigure, at which time all data will be lost from the phone. We have a [reduced] fee of $220 which includes return express postage.

Password Recovery Suggestions

Take some time to "think" about the thought process you were using at the time you chose the new password. Were you thinking about a friend, pet, or a special date or holiday? This can trigger your memory and recover the password.

Next, we suggest the following steps be taken to see if you can recover your new password:

  1. Use a notepad and pen to make a list.

  2. Write down what you think your password is.

  3. Write down all the variants you think you may have used.

  4. Try entering these in your phone and cross them off the list if they fail.

  5. Add and try any new variants you think of.

If the above does not work, take a break and go for a walk / run / gym and see if the break has helped you remember the correct password. Some have found they can remember the correct password the next day so it’s ok to sleep on it.

If all else fails, then contact me for our return postal address and we can begin the process to reconfigure your phone. We aim to complete your phone and dispatch it express post within three days of receiving your phone and funds.
